I'm experiencing a bug with the game, playing under Windows ME. Something is wrong with the display--it seems like it isn't redrawing properly or some such thing. Everything looks messed up; I can't really play at all.

I uploaded some screenshots at the following locations:

I worked around that problem by creating a papaki.bat file which ran the exe, then setting that .bat file to start dos mode with 50 lines.

But now I've hit another bug. If you hit 'p' to pray to a god, then hit 'escape' to close that menu, the game crashes.

Also, is there a more complete list of commands somewhere? Some of them (like 'p'ray and 'l'ook) appear to be missing from both the in-game '?' display and the html manual.

Another small bug: If you try to sell a cursed item, you don't lose the item, but you get the gold, and can 'sell' it repeatedly to get as much as you want.

Thanx for the reports dude :)
The bug with the cursed item looks serius...:/
The prey command shall not even exist...forgot it.
The *.bat you made make the display work right? Can you send me it with email? I would be grateful!
    I won't forget to fix them :)

I sent you a collection of various windows-shortcut .pif files that will run Papaki correctly under Windows ME (and probably under 95 and 98, too, if they have the same problem there). I was able to cut out the .bat file by making a .pif file (a windows shortcut) that pointed straight to the .exe.

I sent several files because the first one had to point to papaki0.6.6.exe, which probably won't be the filename forever; I thought I should also include one that points to papaki.exe, since you might not be able to change where an old dos shortcut points under Windows XP.

And I also included the old .pif + .bat combination, which have to be kept together to work. But those shouldn't be needed.

When I try to download version 0.6.6 of Papaki from your website, I consistently receive 403 Forbidden on /~nikpapg/papaki/download/papaki0.6.6.zip.

I have been able to download version 0.6.5, and am looking forward to trying it, but did want to mention that 0.6.6 seems to be unavailable.

    Thanks!
