085 (incompleted)

This is a new version I am working on, it is not complete (towns and villages are empty), but while I have not much time to add more things these days, I'll give it to you and see the changes.

Fixes:
* travel mode works ok now
* villages and towns added, but incopmlete
* added slot for ranged weapons
* you can throw potions against enemies('t' key)
* get a single item from the ground without menu

Added:
* gain level and skill training system
* rangers taunt too

Download version 0.8.5

Thanks everyone who send me feedback, your interest raise my interest to upgrade the game.

Wow, just after I commented in the other one.

Some immediate thoughts after playing with it a bit:

One of my characters died of bleeding, and when I immediately created a new character, that new character started out already bleeding.

It's a shame that the [W]ilderness travel mode doesn't work in dungeons. I can sort of see how it would be difficult to handle, but given how big underground areas can get in Papaki, it would be nice to have a way to travel through them quickly... hmm. Well, maybe when spellcasting is in again, it can help with that by letting you return to the surface.

Also, a simple suggestion: When there's one object in your location, and nothing else (no stairs or anything), let 'space' be used to pick it up, too.

Space seems to be used for a general interact-with-location key by papaki, and is used in particular for gathering mushrooms and rocks. So it would seem to fit here -- I find myself constantly trying to use space to pick things up, at least.

Lol, yes space for picking one item shall be a nice feature.
I may return many dungeons in small sizes as 45x45 tiles, because now it could be realy painful when you can't find a hidden door in such a big place.

I kinda like the big sprawling dungeons, though. It's something that most games don't have. It would be neat if the player could find underground connections between different dungeons, say.

This is very exciting, I'm glad to see you're still working on Papaki! Please do keep developing it, even if it's only a little at a time.

I have no idea if it's still in progress, but I had a copy of the old version lying around on my computer, so I uploaded it here.
